Our UPF50+ fabrics

Shrimps Australia use Dupont® Carvico Premium UPF50+ fabric, imported from Italy, for all its sun protective swimwear products.

Carvico Premium Lycra® fabric is constructed with a breathable close knit weave that provides UPF50+ sun protection and allows natural airflow for a quick-dry. The fabric is extremally durable and has 4 1/2 times the chlorine resistance of ordinary elastane. The dyes used in Carvico Premium fabric achieves the highest colour fastness values whilst meeting the Oko Text Standard 100.

The Carvico fabric is certified by the Australian Government body ARPANSA for UV Sun protection UPF50+. This certification is maintained every year by Carvico Fabrics to ensure consistently high standards in their products.
